About Product Overview

Cast iron holds heat and spreads it evenly, which is why the Lodge Logic 7 Quart Dutch Oven works as hard on the stovetop as it does in the oven or over a campfire. This one's built the way Lodge has built them for generations: solid cast iron, no coatings, no shortcuts, made right here in the USA. The 7 quart capacity is enough to braise a roast, simmer a big batch of chili, or bake a loaf of bread, and the tight-fitting lid keeps moisture locked in while it cooks.

Because it's raw cast iron rather than nonstick, it develops a natural seasoning over time that actually improves how it cooks. Keep in mind the handles aren't heat-resistant coated, so you'll want a good pot holder or mitt, and this one's hand-wash only - skip the dishwasher.
