Find In-Store
Our catalog runs 100,000+ products deep. Plenty of it ships well to your door. But a serious chunk of it — the chain saws, the riding mowers, the BBQ's, the freight-heavy stuff — is genuinely better-bought local. And on the premium brands you already know (Milwaukee, Stihl, Weber, Yeti, Traeger), MAP rules mean the real deal lives at the register, not the cart. Here's how that works — and why we'll often point you down the road.
Most customers have never heard of MAP. It's the reason a Milwaukee combo kit looks identical in price on every legitimate website — and why the real deals only happen in person.
MAP stands for Minimum Advertised Price. It's an agreement between premium brands and their authorized dealers that sets a floor on how low a product can be advertised publicly — including online.
But here's the catch: MAP only governs advertised pricing. It says nothing about the actual selling price. So when you walk into a real hardware store and the staff knocks $40 off a Milwaukee M18 kit at the register, they're not breaking any rules. They're following them perfectly.
On top of MAP, many of these same brands restrict where their products can be sold at all. No third-party Amazon. No third-party Walmart. No random marketplace resellers. The only legitimate place to buy is from an authorized dealer — usually a local store.
We're an authorized dealer for every brand we list. That includes the names below. But on most of these — the chain saws, bbq's, riding mowers, paint, premium coolers — the better customer experience is in a real store. Expert help, real warranty support, and the kind of register-side pricing the internet legally can't show. So we'll often point you there first.

And 300+ more. The names above are the most recognizable, but the list goes deep. We're an authorized seller for all of them. We could absolutely put every one of these in your cart. We choose, on most items, to point you to a real store instead — because the experience, the expertise, and often the register price are better there. That's the whole idea behind NHG.
MAP forces websites to show the brand's mandated minimum advertised price. The store down the street isn't bound by that floor at checkout. Ask. Compare. You'll often find $20–$80 off on bigger tools — legally, quietly, in person.
Manufacturer warranties on premium tools and equipment are only valid when you buy from an authorized dealer. Buying from random marketplace sellers can void your warranty before the box is even opened. With an authorized dealer, you're protected.
Independent hardware staff use these brands every day. They've fixed the leaks, rebuilt the decks, sharpened the chains. When you walk in with a question, you get an answer based on lived experience — not a chatbot reading a spec sheet.
Counterfeit and gray-market sellers know how to look legitimate. Here's how to spot the difference between an authorized dealer and a marketplace gamble.
We built National Hardware Group to support independent hardware stores — not replace them. When the product is better-bought local, we tell you that. When you're better off walking in to ask questions and feel the weight of the tool in your hand, we tell you that too. Our job is to help you make the right call. Sometimes that means our cart. Often it means the corner store.
