About Product Overview

Lodge built the Blacklock line to solve the two things people complain about with regular cast iron: too heavy, too rough. This 13-inch skillet is triple-seasoned and ground smooth on the cooking surface, so food releases easier and cleanup goes faster than a standard Lodge pan. It still holds heat like cast iron should, which means steady, even cooking for searing steaks, frying chicken, baking cornbread, or finishing a dish in the oven.

At just over 6 pounds it's noticeably lighter than traditional cast iron of this size, so it's easier to lift, flip, and maneuver one-handed at the stove. Made in the USA, it's built to last for generations with basic care - dry it, oil it, and it's ready for the next meal.
