About Product Overview

The Makita XWT15XVZ pairs a brushless motor with 430 ft-lbs of torque and 4,000 impacts per minute, giving it the muscle for lug nuts, suspension work, and structural fastening without dragging a cord across the shop or job site. The 1/2 inch square drive uses a detent pin, so sockets lock in place instead of relying on friction alone - useful when you're working overhead or in awkward positions. Variable speed control and a forward/reverse switch let you dial in the right amount of force for the fastener in front of you, and the built-in LED lights up dark corners of an engine bay or cabinet. Running on Makita's 18V LXT platform, it's sold as tool only, so it's a smart pickup if you're already stocked with LXT batteries. Backed by a 3-year limited warranty.

Go ahead. Check.

You're going to open the other tab. Everybody does. We'd rather say so than pretend otherwise — so open it. We'll wait.

When you're over there, check four things before you click buy.

01

Who's actually selling it

The brand name is on the listing. A different company is in the seller field. Those aren't the same thing, and the second one is who you're buying from.

02

Whether the warranty survives

Most manufacturers only honor a warranty when the unit came through an authorized dealer. We're authorized for Makita. A third-party marketplace seller usually isn't.

03

Where the box came from

Gray-market stock, returns repackaged as new, and outright fakes move through marketplaces constantly. It all looks identical in the photo. It stops looking identical when it fails.

04

Who you call when it breaks

Ours is a phone number with a person behind it who has held this product. M–F, 6 AM – 5 PM Pacific. (866) 469-8556

We're not always the cheapest.

Sometimes you'll find it for less. Sometimes you'll find it for more. On a lot of brands the number is identical everywhere it's sold legitimately — the manufacturer sets a minimum advertised price and every authorized dealer holds it. When a price sits well under that, it's worth asking why before it's worth celebrating.

Shop Local · Support Independent

Every order helps keep your local hardware store on the corner.

Why we built NHG
You might find it for less locally. Independent retailers often offer competitive pricing — some products are even cheaper in-store than online.
Real expert advice — not search results. Independent hardware staff know their inventory and the local conditions you're working in.
Keep the neighborhood working. Every dollar spent at an independent retailer returns roughly 3x more to your local economy than at a national chain.
