About Product Overview

This 18" Milwaukee ship auger bit is built for drilling deep, clean holes through framing lumber, joists, and other rough carpentry work - including wood with embedded nails. The hardened steel construction stands up to the abuse that comes with running electricians' and plumbers' bits through real jobsite lumber, not just clean stock.

The 7/16" hex shank locks into your drill's chuck for solid torque transfer, which matters when you're pushing a 1-1/4" diameter bit through 2x lumber or deeper. At 18" long, it reaches through doubled-up studs and thick timbers where a standard bit falls short. Heat treating adds durability so the cutting edge holds up over repeated use instead of dulling out after a handful of holes.

Good fit for electricians and plumbers running wire or pipe through framing, and any carpenter who needs a long, tough bit that can handle the occasional hidden nail without snapping.
