The 1.25-inch wide blade is built to stand out farther on its own before it buckles, so one person can measure long spans without a second set of hands holding the far end steady.
The ABS case is sized for daily use on a job site, with a belt clip to keep it within reach and a comfort grip for pulling tape all day. A locking mechanism holds your measurement in place once you've got it, and SAE markings keep readings in standard feet and inches.
