It's built as a combination battery charger and engine starter, so it handles both the routine job of charging a deep cycle lead acid battery and the emergency job of jump-starting a car that won't turn over.
It's mounted on wheels rather than built as a handheld unit, which makes sense given its weight - this is a unit you roll out to the vehicle, not one you carry.
