Milwaukee built the M18 String Trimmer as a straight shaft, battery-powered alternative to gas trimmers, and this kit comes ready to run with the battery and charger included. The straight shaft design gives better reach and control under bushes and along taller edging compared to a curved shaft, and since it runs on the M18 platform, the battery pulls double duty across other Milwaukee M18 tools if you're already invested in that system. There's no shoulder harness, so it's built for someone who wants a lighter, more maneuverable trimmer rather than an all-day commercial rig, and it's not attachment capable, so it stays dedicated to trimming. Assembly is required out of the box, but once it's together it's straightforward yard work equipment for homeowners who've had enough of gas trimmer maintenance.
