Each No. 10 x 3-1/2" screw is carbon steel with a green epoxy coating designed to stand up to weather, and the coarse thread combined with a self-drilling tip means you can drive straight into deck boards and joists without a separate pilot hole in most cases.
The flat head sits flush for a clean finished surface, and the star drive gives better bit engagement than a standard Phillips, which matters when you're running a few thousand screws in a day.
