About Product Overview

Old Masters Ascend Exterior clear finish is built for surfaces that take a beating from sun and weather without giving up the gloss. This 1-gallon, water-based formula covers up to 470 square feet and carries UV resistance to help protect wood from fading and breaking down under direct sunlight over time. Because it's rated for indoor and outdoor use, it works equally well on porch railings, exterior doors, and interior trim or furniture where a clear, glossy topcoat is called for.

At 140 VOC, it's a lower-emission option compared to older solvent-based varnishes, which matters if you're finishing in a space with limited ventilation. Recoat in as little as 2 hours and expect full cure within a day, so projects don't sit around waiting between coats. Apply with a brush for controlled, even coverage. Made in the USA by Old Masters, a name built around wood finishing products.
