Varathane Ultimate Spar Urethane is built for wood surfaces that live outdoors and take a beating from sun and weather. This oil-based clear coat in satin sheen brushes on and lays down a UV-resistant finish that flexes with the wood as it expands and contracts, so it holds up on doors, railings, and outdoor furniture instead of cracking and peeling. One gallon covers 285 to 600 square feet depending on the surface, and you're ready to recoat in about 8 hours, with full cure at 3 days.
