About Product Overview

Lodge built the Blacklock line to solve the usual gripes people have with cast iron: too heavy, too rough on the inside, too slow to season. This 4-quart braiser is triple-seasoned cast iron with a smoother interior surface than standard Lodge cookware, so food releases easier and cleanup goes faster. It's cast and finished in the USA, and comes as a 2-piece set with a fitted lid that traps moisture for braising, stewing, or slow-cooking tougher cuts of meat.

The heat-resistant handles make it safe to move from stovetop to oven to table, and the wide, low-profile shape gives you more surface area for browning before you add liquid.
