About Product Overview

Cabot's Deck & Siding Transparent Stain is an oil-based, penetrating formula built for exterior wood that takes a beating from sun, rain, and foot traffic. It's made to soak into deck boards, fence rails, and siding rather than sit on top, so the wood grain stays visible while the finish stands up to UV exposure and repels water. This is the 5-gallon container in Cedar, a natural brown tone that lets the wood's character show through instead of masking it.

Because it's a sealer as well as a stain, one application handles both jobs, and with coverage rated at 1,875 square feet, a single 5-gallon pail goes a long way on a deck or siding project. Apply it by brush or sprayer, and expect it to hold up for 1 to 4 years depending on sun and weather exposure before it needs a refresh. Full cure takes 48 hours, so plan projects around dry weather.
