Grade 5 steel gives these screws higher tensile strength than a standard-grade bolt, which matters when you're joining lumber, steel brackets, or equipment that sees vibration and stress over time. The heat-treated zinc finish adds a layer of corrosion resistance, so these hold up better than bare steel in garages, sheds, and other spots exposed to moisture. At 3/8 inch by 8 inches with coarse threading, they're sized for thicker stock and deeper connections.
