This 5/8" x 6" hex head cap screw from Hillman is built to Grade 5 steel specifications, which means it's rated for higher tensile strength than a standard hardware-store bolt. That extra strength makes it a solid choice for structural framing, decking, equipment assembly, and other jobs where the fastener is doing real work holding things together, not just cosmetic assembly. The heat-treated zinc finish adds a layer of corrosion resistance so the bolt holds up better against moisture and outdoor exposure than an untreated screw would. Coarse threading means faster driving and a stronger grip in wood and softer materials.
