About Product Overview

Zinsser's 1500 Latex Primer is built for painters covering serious square footage: a single 5-gallon container handles up to 1,600 square feet, making it a practical choice for whole rooms, hallways, or multi-room jobs where buying by the quart just slows you down. It's a water-based interior primer designed to lay down a clean, uniform white surface on drywall ahead of your topcoat, with a flat/matte finish that won't fight with whatever paint goes on next.

Because it's not a stain-blocking formula, it's best suited for fresh or lightly prepped drywall rather than covering water marks, smoke, or heavy staining.
