About Product Overview

The General IRT207 reads surface temperatures without ever touching the object, using an 8:1 distance-to-spot ratio so you can stand back and still get an accurate spot on your target. A built-in laser pointer marks exactly where you're aiming, which matters when you're checking a duct, a motor housing, or a breaker panel from a few feet away rather than pressing a probe into something hot or live.

Range runs from -4°F to 608°F, wide enough to cover cold-storage checks on one end and mechanical or electrical trouble spots on the other. The housing is molded plastic in gray, sized to fit in a tool bag or glove box, and it runs on a single included 9V battery so it's ready to use out of the carded package. No case is included, so plan on a drawer or pouch of your own if you want extra protection in transit.
