A hammer tacker is built for one job: driving staples fast with a swing-and-strike motion instead of a hand squeeze, and the Bostitch PowerSlam PC2K sticks to that job well. With a 14.25" handle, it gives you the reach and leverage to work along baseboards, insulation, roofing felt, and house wrap without hunching over or repositioning constantly. The 168-staple magazine capacity means fewer reloads during long runs, which matters when you're tacking down a whole roll of underlayment or wrapping a room in vapor barrier.
It's built around Bostitch's PowerCrown fasteners with a 7/16" crown width, accepting staples from 1/4" up to 3/8" in length - enough range for common tacking jobs without needing a heavier-duty stapler. This is a manual, non-electric tool, so there's no cord or battery to manage, just point, swing, and go. At 2.35 lbs, it's light enough to swing repeatedly without wearing out your arm on bigger jobs.
