About Product Overview

A chamfer bit cuts clean, beveled edges instead of the rounded profile you get from a standard edge-forming bit, and this one from Freud is built with a solid carbide cutting edge for that job on both wood and composite materials. The 1/2" shank fits full-size routers and router tables, while the 3/8" diameter bearing rides the workpiece edge to keep your cut consistent from end to end.

With a 1-5/8" overall diameter and 5/8" of cutting length, it has enough reach for edge-breaking on cabinet doors, shelving, tabletops, and trim work where a sharp 90-degree corner needs to go. It's sold as a single bit, carded for easy storage on a pegboard or in a bit case, and made in Italy to Freud's standard for carbide router bits.
