This Gator waterproof sandpaper is cut for mirror-fine finish work, not rough shaping. At 2500 grit, it's built for the final pass on automotive clear coats, urethane, lacquer, varnish, and porcelain, where the goal is a smooth, polished surface rather than material removal. The silicon carbide grit holds up under wet sanding, so you can use it with water to flush away debris and keep the surface from clogging or scratching.
