About Product Overview

This 8" chimney cap from Selkirk closes off the top of a Type HT Class A chimney system, keeping rain, snow, and debris out of the flue while letting combustion gases vent freely. Built from 28-gauge stainless steel with corrugated construction, it's made to handle the punishing heat and weather exposure that come with sitting at the top of a chimney stack, year after year.

It's rated for continuous temperatures up to 1000°F and can handle spikes to 2100°F, which matters if you're dealing with a chimney fire or just heavy creosote burn-off. UL listing means it's been tested to recognized safety standards, so you're not guessing on fire performance. Comes boxed and ready to install on compatible 8" Type HT chimney pipe runs. Good fit for homeowners finishing out a wood stove or fireplace chimney system, or contractors capping off a Class A install.
