About Product Overview

Cast iron gives this Bessey bench vise the mass and rigidity to hold work steady through hacksawing, filing, hammering, and clamping jobs that would rack a lighter-duty vise. The 4" jaws open to match, giving you enough capacity for lumber, pipe, and metal stock without swapping tools mid-job.

A 360-degree swivel base lets you rotate the whole vise to the best angle for the cut or the clamp, then lock it down so it stays put. That's useful on a home workbench where you're working from more than one side, or in a shop where the vise gets used for everything from woodworking to metal fabrication. At roughly 14 lbs, it has enough heft to sit solid on a bench without walking around under load, and the 2" throat depth gives you room to work on stock that doesn't sit flush to the jaw face.

Go ahead. Check.

You're going to open the other tab. Everybody does. We'd rather say so than pretend otherwise — so open it. We'll wait.

When you're over there, check four things before you click buy.

01

Who's actually selling it

The brand name is on the listing. A different company is in the seller field. Those aren't the same thing, and the second one is who you're buying from.

02

Whether the warranty survives

Most manufacturers only honor a warranty when the unit came through an authorized dealer. We're authorized for Bessey. A third-party marketplace seller usually isn't.

03

Where the box came from

Gray-market stock, returns repackaged as new, and outright fakes move through marketplaces constantly. It all looks identical in the photo. It stops looking identical when it fails.

04

Who you call when it breaks

Ours is a phone number with a person behind it who has held this product. M–F, 6 AM – 5 PM Pacific. (866) 469-8556

We're not always the cheapest.

Sometimes you'll find it for less. Sometimes you'll find it for more. On a lot of brands the number is identical everywhere it's sold legitimately — the manufacturer sets a minimum advertised price and every authorized dealer holds it. When a price sits well under that, it's worth asking why before it's worth celebrating.

Shop Local · Support Independent

Every order helps keep your local hardware store on the corner.

Why we built NHG
You might find it for less locally. Independent retailers often offer competitive pricing — some products are even cheaper in-store than online.
Real expert advice — not search results. Independent hardware staff know their inventory and the local conditions you're working in.
Keep the neighborhood working. Every dollar spent at an independent retailer returns roughly 3x more to your local economy than at a national chain.
