About Product Overview

The Bostitch SX1838K is a narrow crown pneumatic stapler built for trim, cabinetry, and upholstery work where you need a clean, low-profile fastener that won't split thin stock. Its 7/32" crown puts holding power right where you need it without the footprint of a wider staple, and the 18-gauge design keeps the tool light in the hand for long stretches of overhead or repetitive work.

Rear loading keeps the magazine easy to top off on the job, and a 100-staple capacity means fewer reloads during a run. It handles fasteners up to 1-1/2" long, giving you range for both light trim tacking and slightly heavier assembly tasks, and it runs on a standard 80-120 PSI air supply that fits most compressor setups already in a shop or on a truck. This one comes as a kit, so you're set up to get to work right out of the box.

Go ahead. Check.

You're going to open the other tab. Everybody does. We'd rather say so than pretend otherwise — so open it. We'll wait.

When you're over there, check four things before you click buy.

01

Who's actually selling it

The brand name is on the listing. A different company is in the seller field. Those aren't the same thing, and the second one is who you're buying from.

02

Whether the warranty survives

Most manufacturers only honor a warranty when the unit came through an authorized dealer. We're authorized for Bostitch. A third-party marketplace seller usually isn't.

03

Where the box came from

Gray-market stock, returns repackaged as new, and outright fakes move through marketplaces constantly. It all looks identical in the photo. It stops looking identical when it fails.

04

Who you call when it breaks

Ours is a phone number with a person behind it who has held this product. M–F, 6 AM – 5 PM Pacific. (866) 469-8556

We're not always the cheapest.

Sometimes you'll find it for less. Sometimes you'll find it for more. On a lot of brands the number is identical everywhere it's sold legitimately — the manufacturer sets a minimum advertised price and every authorized dealer holds it. When a price sits well under that, it's worth asking why before it's worth celebrating.

Shop Local · Support Independent

Every order helps keep your local hardware store on the corner.

Why we built NHG
You might find it for less locally. Independent retailers often offer competitive pricing — some products are even cheaper in-store than online.
Real expert advice — not search results. Independent hardware staff know their inventory and the local conditions you're working in.
Keep the neighborhood working. Every dollar spent at an independent retailer returns roughly 3x more to your local economy than at a national chain.
