About Product Overview

Cabot's Stain & Sealer in Neutral Base is a solid acrylic stain built for exterior siding and fence work, and it's formulated as a tintable base so your local mixing counter can dial in the exact color you need. Because it's a solid stain, it lays down opaque, even coverage that hides old wood grain and weathering instead of just tinting it, while the built-in sealer and water repellency work together to keep moisture out of the wood. The water-based acrylic formula also adds UV resistance, so color doesn't break down as fast under sun exposure. At a 5-gallon size with 1,500 square feet of coverage, it's sized for full siding or fence jobs rather than small touch-ups, and Cabot rates it for 6 to 10 years of durability once applied.
