About Product Overview

Cortex is FastenMaster's hidden fastener system for composite and wood decking, and this 224-piece contractor pack gives you enough coarse-thread steel screws to finish a full deck without a single visible screw head breaking up the surface. The Spiced Rum color is meant to disappear into matching plugs, so the deck reads as a clean plane of boards instead of a grid of fasteners.

Each screw is epoxy coated for outdoor exposure and self-tapping rather than self-drilling, so it bites into wood or composite decking as it's driven rather than requiring a pre-drilled pilot. The Torx Ttap drive style resists cam-out and stripping under repeated use, which matters when you're setting hundreds of screws across a deck build. Sold in a 5 lb bucket for easy carrying and storage on the jobsite.
