About Product Overview

This is a 50-pound box of Grip-Rite 8D bright finishing nails, sized for trim, molding, and finish carpentry where you want a fastener that holds tight but doesn't stand out. Each box holds roughly 9,800 nails, so it's built for crews and serious DIYers running through a lot of trim work rather than a quick one-off repair.

The 2-1/2 inch length and 12.5 gauge shank give you solid holding power in cabinetry, baseboard, casing, and other finish applications, indoors or out. A cupped head lets you countersink cleanly and fill without a raised lip, and the diamond point starts easily and drives straight through hardwood and softwood alike. Smooth shank steel construction keeps these nails easy to set by hand or with a pneumatic finish nailer.

  • Callout size: 8D, 2-1/2 inch length, 12.5 gauge
  • Head type: cupped, 0.142 inch diameter for clean countersinking
  • Diamond point for easy starting and straight driving
  • Smooth shank, steel, bright finish
  • Rated for indoor and outdoor finish work
  • 50-pound box, approximately 9,800 nails per box

Go ahead. Check.

You're going to open the other tab. Everybody does. We'd rather say so than pretend otherwise — so open it. We'll wait.

When you're over there, check four things before you click buy.

01

Who's actually selling it

The brand name is on the listing. A different company is in the seller field. Those aren't the same thing, and the second one is who you're buying from.

02

Whether the warranty survives

Most manufacturers only honor a warranty when the unit came through an authorized dealer. We're authorized for Grip-Rite. A third-party marketplace seller usually isn't.

03

Where the box came from

Gray-market stock, returns repackaged as new, and outright fakes move through marketplaces constantly. It all looks identical in the photo. It stops looking identical when it fails.

04

Who you call when it breaks

Ours is a phone number with a person behind it who has held this product. M–F, 6 AM – 5 PM Pacific. (866) 469-8556

We're not always the cheapest.

Sometimes you'll find it for less. Sometimes you'll find it for more. On a lot of brands the number is identical everywhere it's sold legitimately — the manufacturer sets a minimum advertised price and every authorized dealer holds it. When a price sits well under that, it's worth asking why before it's worth celebrating.

Every order helps keep your local hardware store on the corner.

Why we built NHG
You might find it for less locally. Independent retailers often offer competitive pricing — some products are even cheaper in-store than online.
Real expert advice — not search results. Independent hardware staff know their inventory and the local conditions you're working in.
Keep the neighborhood working. Every dollar spent at an independent retailer returns roughly 3x more to your local economy than at a national chain.
