These 3" carriage bolts from Hillman are built for wood-to-wood and wood-to-metal joints where you don't want the fastener spinning loose as you tighten the nut. The square shank digs into the wood grain and locks in place, while the smooth, rounded head sits flush on the finished side of the work - decks, fence rails, workbenches, and general framing repairs are all good fits. Zinc plating adds rust resistance for outdoor use, and Grade 2 steel gives you dependable strength for everyday building jobs.
