These 1/4 x 2" carriage bolts from Hillman come 100 to a box, so you're not running back to the store mid-project. The rounded head and square shank underneath are what set carriage bolts apart from standard bolts - the shank bites into wood as you tighten, keeping the bolt from spinning so you can drive the nut with one wrench and no second hand needed. Zinc plating fights off rust, and Grade 2 steel with coarse SAE threads handles general construction and repair work without fuss. Good for deck framing, fence rails, furniture builds, and anywhere you're joining wood to wood or wood to metal.
