About Product Overview

A step drill bit does the work of a whole set of twist bits, cutting progressively larger holes in one pass so you're not stopping to swap tools every time the size changes. IRWIN's Unibit #9 is built from high speed steel, which holds an edge through repeated use in sheet metal, plastic, and other thin stock where a standard bit tends to grab or tear the material instead of cutting clean.

The 7/16 square shank locks into a chuck without spinning loose under torque, and at 6 inches overall it gives you enough reach for most electrical, HVAC, and fabrication work. It comes carded as a single bit, so it's an easy add when you need to replace or round out a set.
