About Product Overview

Lodge has been casting iron cookware in the USA for generations, and this 5-quart Dutch oven carries on that tradition with the same rugged, one-piece construction the brand is known for. Cast iron heats slowly and evenly, then holds onto that heat, which makes this pot a workhorse for braises, stews, chilis, and slow-cooked roasts. The tight-fitting lid traps moisture so meat comes out tender and sauces reduce down properly instead of drying out.

At 10 inches in diameter and 5-quart capacity, it's sized right for family-sized meals without being too heavy to maneuver once it's full. Like all bare cast iron, it needs to be seasoned and hand washed, not run through the dishwasher, and the handles aren't heat-resistant, so plan on using pot holders or mitts every time it comes off the burner or out of the oven.
