This 12-inch skillet from Lodge is built from steel, made in the USA, and finished with a silicone-wrapped handle that stays cool to the touch over heat that would make a bare metal handle unbearable. At 4.46 pounds, it has the heft you want for searing, browning, and building a good crust on everything from steaks to vegetables, while the silicone handle grip makes it easier to maneuver on and off the burner.
There's no nonstick coating here, so this pan is meant for cooks who want a traditional steel cooking surface that develops character with use and can take high heat without worry. It's a single skillet, not part of a set, and comes carded for easy display or gifting. Hand wash only - it's not dishwasher safe.
