About Product Overview

These are the weights that go inside your crock, not the crock itself - a set of two stoneware pieces made to hold your cabbage, cucumbers, or whatever else you're fermenting fully submerged under the brine. Sized for a 5-gallon wide mouth crock, they're made from the same clay and water formula as Ohio Stoneware's crocks, so they hold up to salt and acid without breaking down over time. Fermentation only works right when everything stays under the liquid, and these give you the weight to make that happen without improvising with plates or jars.
