A heavy-duty 12/3 SJTW cord like this one is built for the jobs that shorter, thinner cords can't handle - running a shop vac across a job site, powering outdoor lights at the far end of the yard, or feeding a table saw when the outlet is nowhere near the work. The 100-foot length means fewer daisy-chained cords and fewer trips back to the outlet, and the 12-gauge conductors keep voltage drop in check even at that distance, supporting up to 1875 watts at 15 amps.
The PVC jacket and round wire construction stand up to dragging across concrete, gravel, and grass, and this cord is rated for indoor or outdoor use, so it doesn't need to come inside between jobs. It's UL listed and OSHA listed, which matters on commercial sites where inspectors check for that. The bright orange color makes it easy to spot in grass or on a cluttered garage floor, and it ships coiled in a sleeve for storage.
