It's a complete drip irrigation system in one box, covering up to 50 square feet without you having to source parts separately. The included timer handles the on/off schedule automatically, so beds get watered on a consistent basis whether you're home or not, and the pressure regulator keeps flow steady so tubing and emitters aren't stressed by household water pressure swings.
Because it includes the filter, fittings, tubing, and tubing stakes, setup is a matter of laying out the lines and staking them down rather than making a hardware store run for missing pieces. Good fit for perennial beds, ground cover plantings, and mixed flowerbeds where broadcast spray watering wastes water on bare soil and mulch.
