About Product Overview

Tearing off old shingles goes faster with a shovel built for the job. The Razor-Back Ripper Roof Shovel has a notched steel blade that catches under shingles and slides beneath nails, letting you rip up roofing material in fewer passes than a standard flat spade.

The wood handle ends in a D-grip, giving you a solid two-hand hold for leverage when you're prying loose stubborn sections or working at an angle on a pitched roof. At just 5.6 lbs, it's light enough to swing repeatedly through a full tear-off without wearing out your arms, and the steel blade stands up to the abuse of nail heads and old asphalt.

A good fit for roofing crews and homeowners tackling a reroofing project who need one tool that pulls up shingles and clears debris in the same motion.

Go ahead. Check.

You're going to open the other tab. Everybody does. We'd rather say so than pretend otherwise — so open it. We'll wait.

When you're over there, check four things before you click buy.

01

Who's actually selling it

The brand name is on the listing. A different company is in the seller field. Those aren't the same thing, and the second one is who you're buying from.

02

Whether the warranty survives

Most manufacturers only honor a warranty when the unit came through an authorized dealer. We're authorized for Razor-Back. A third-party marketplace seller usually isn't.

03

Where the box came from

Gray-market stock, returns repackaged as new, and outright fakes move through marketplaces constantly. It all looks identical in the photo. It stops looking identical when it fails.

04

Who you call when it breaks

Ours is a phone number with a person behind it who has held this product. M–F, 6 AM – 5 PM Pacific. (866) 469-8556

We're not always the cheapest.

Sometimes you'll find it for less. Sometimes you'll find it for more. On a lot of brands the number is identical everywhere it's sold legitimately — the manufacturer sets a minimum advertised price and every authorized dealer holds it. When a price sits well under that, it's worth asking why before it's worth celebrating.

Every order helps keep your local hardware store on the corner.

Why we built NHG
You might find it for less locally. Independent retailers often offer competitive pricing — some products are even cheaper in-store than online.
Real expert advice — not search results. Independent hardware staff know their inventory and the local conditions you're working in.
Keep the neighborhood working. Every dollar spent at an independent retailer returns roughly 3x more to your local economy than at a national chain.
