About Product Overview

Ready Seal's Dark Walnut is a penetrating oil-based stain and sealer in one, made to soak into outdoor wood rather than sit on the surface like a film-forming finish. That penetration is what gives it UV resistance and a semi-transparent flat finish that lets the wood grain show through instead of hiding it under a painted look. It's part of Ready Seal's Goof Proof line, built to apply evenly without the lap marks and overlap streaks that plague a lot of stains, so it forgives a slower pace or a mid-job break.

This 5-gallon container covers up to 625 square feet, enough for a deck, fence, or siding job without running short mid-project, and it goes on with a brush, roller, paint pad, or sprayer depending on what the job calls for. Recoat in as little as 1 hour if a second coat is needed. Note it's not tintable, so what's in the can is the final color.
