About Product Overview

A water heater tank corrodes from the inside out once its anode rod is spent, and this aluminum rod from Reliance is the replacement that keeps that process in check. At 3/4" diameter and 54.25" long, it's built to reach into standard tank wells on both electric and gas water heaters, giving the steel lining something else to corrode instead of itself. Swapping in a fresh rod every few years is one of the cheapest ways to add life to a tank that would otherwise cost far more to replace.
