About Product Overview

Scotts Lawn Food Step 1 is built for the spring window when you're putting down new grass seed but still need to keep crabgrass and broadleaf weeds from taking over. It's the first product in Scotts' seasonal lawn care program, formulated with a 21-22-4 fertilizer analysis that feeds newly seeded lawns while a pre-emergent barrier works against crabgrass and 21 types of broadleaf weeds for up to six weeks.

This bag covers up to 5,000 square feet, which fits a medium-sized lawn (4,001-9,999 sq ft). It's a dry granular product, applied with a spreader according to the label's setting recommendations, then watered in lightly once down. Works on all grass types, though it's not labeled safe for Bermuda grass. Made in the USA.
