About Product Overview

Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun/Shade Mix is built for thin, patchy lawns that need to fill in rather than start from scratch. It combines grass seed, fertilizer, and a soil improver in one granular application, so you're feeding the lawn and adding new seed in the same pass instead of doing separate treatments. The Sun/Shade formula is meant for yards with mixed light conditions, where one type of grass alone won't hold up in every spot.

This is an established-lawn product, not a new-lawn starter, and it's rated for the North region. Apply it in spring or fall with a Scotts broadcast, rotary, drop, Elite, hand-held, or Wizz spreader, then water it in and keep the soil moist until the seed germinates. One 40 lb bag covers up to 4,000 sq ft, which fits the product's small-lawn sizing.
