About Product Overview

When the power's out or the garage just won't hold heat, the Rad Kero Heater from Sengoku's HeatMate line runs on kerosene instead of electricity, putting out 10,000 BTU of radiant warmth without needing an outlet. It's built for spaces in the 300 to 600 square foot range, so it works well in a workshop, cabin, job site trailer, or any area where running electric heat isn't practical.

The all-metal housing stands up to daily use both indoors and outdoors, and the automatic delay shutoff adds a layer of safety when you're not standing right next to it. A 1.2-gallon fuel tank keeps it running for stretches without constant refilling, and at 29 pounds it's manageable to move between spaces as needed.

Go ahead. Check.

You're going to open the other tab. Everybody does. We'd rather say so than pretend otherwise — so open it. We'll wait.

When you're over there, check four things before you click buy.

01

Who's actually selling it

The brand name is on the listing. A different company is in the seller field. Those aren't the same thing, and the second one is who you're buying from.

02

Whether the warranty survives

Most manufacturers only honor a warranty when the unit came through an authorized dealer. We're authorized for Sengoku. A third-party marketplace seller usually isn't.

03

Where the box came from

Gray-market stock, returns repackaged as new, and outright fakes move through marketplaces constantly. It all looks identical in the photo. It stops looking identical when it fails.

04

Who you call when it breaks

Ours is a phone number with a person behind it who has held this product. M–F, 6 AM – 5 PM Pacific. (866) 469-8556

We're not always the cheapest.

Sometimes you'll find it for less. Sometimes you'll find it for more. On a lot of brands the number is identical everywhere it's sold legitimately — the manufacturer sets a minimum advertised price and every authorized dealer holds it. When a price sits well under that, it's worth asking why before it's worth celebrating.

Shop Local · Support Independent

Every order helps keep your local hardware store on the corner.

Why we built NHG
You might find it for less locally. Independent retailers often offer competitive pricing — some products are even cheaper in-store than online.
Real expert advice — not search results. Independent hardware staff know their inventory and the local conditions you're working in.
Keep the neighborhood working. Every dollar spent at an independent retailer returns roughly 3x more to your local economy than at a national chain.
