About Product Overview

This SharkBite oxygen barrier coil pipe is built for closed-loop hydronic heating systems, where keeping oxygen out of the water matters for protecting boilers, pumps, and other metal components from corrosion. The barrier layer stops oxygen molecules from diffusing through the pipe wall into the system, which is the main reason PEX gets specified for radiant floor heating and baseboard loops instead of standard tubing.

At 1/2" ID and 300 feet per coil, this bulk pipe covers a full room or zone without splicing, and it's rated to handle both the pressure and heat swings typical of a heating loop. The polyethylene construction stays flexible enough to snake through joist bays and around obstacles, which cuts down on fittings and potential leak points.

Good fit for radiant heat installers, HVAC techs, and anyone running a hydronic system where dissolved oxygen is a long-term corrosion risk.
