Digging through root-bound soil usually means stopping to switch between a shovel and a saw. The Shovel Saw puts both jobs in one tool, with a V-shaped steel head that includes a built-in blade step for cutting through roots as you dig, instead of prying around them or hacking away separately.
It's built for trenching work, not light garden chores. The steel blade holds up to repeated digging into compacted or root-filled ground, and the fiberglass handle with a D-handle grip gives you leverage and control without adding much weight to the tool. At 45 inches overall, it's sized for standing digging rather than close-in planting work.
