Simpson Strong-Tie built the MTH114S for one job: fastening underlayment tight and flat before flooring goes down. The trim head sits low and won't interfere with tile, vinyl, or hardwood installed over it, while the No. 7 shank keeps the screw slim enough to avoid splitting thin plywood or OSB panels. High/low thread design bites into wood fast and holds without stripping, and the square drive keeps the bit locked in place so you're not fighting cam-out on a floor full of screws.
