STABILA built its reputation on box beam levels like this one, and the 48" Type 196 shows why. The box beam construction resists twisting and denting better than open I-beam designs, so the level holds its accuracy through years of jobsite use, drops included. This is a set of two 48" levels, both aluminum, both rated to 1/32 accuracy - useful for framing, cabinet installs, deck building, or any job where you're checking long runs and want a second level on hand as a backup or for two-person work.
Each level carries three vials, giving you level and plumb readings plus a third reference point for angled work. There's no magnetic strip on this one, so it's better suited to wood, drywall, and general framing than steel studs or ductwork. Made in Germany, where STABILA manufactures all its precision levels.
