About Product Overview

The Tell LC2486 is a storeroom lockset built for commercial doors that see constant traffic - the kind of opening where the lever needs to stay locked from the outside no matter who turns it, with entry limited to key holders. That's the nature of a storeroom function: the outside lever is always rigid, and only a key retracts the latch, while the inside lever always turns free for quick exit. Rated Grade 2, it's built for the demands of offices, stockrooms, mechanical rooms, and other commercial spaces where you need reliable restricted access without the complexity of a full mortise lock.

Steel construction on both the lockset and faceplate gives it the durability commercial settings call for, and the matte black finish holds up well against fingerprints and wear on high-use doors. It fits standard door thicknesses and works with either door handing, so one unit covers left- or right-hand installs. Pick-resistant cylinder adds a layer of security beyond the basic latch mechanism.
