About Product Overview

The Basement Watchdog BWE is a battery-powered backup sump pump, built to kick in when your primary pump loses power or fails during a storm - exactly when basement flooding is most likely. It runs on 12 volts instead of household current, so a power outage doesn't leave your sump pit unprotected. A dual reed switch monitors water level and activates the pump automatically, moving up to 2,000 gallons per hour at open discharge, or 1,000 GPH against a 10-foot head. The 1/4 HP motor draws 6.5 amps and can push water up to 15 feet of head through its 1.5-inch outlet. Bottom suction intake pulls water efficiently from low in the pit, and the thermoplastic housing resists the corrosion and moisture that shorten the life of metal pump bodies. UL compliance backs up its reliability for unattended operation in a flooding emergency.
