A spurtle is the traditional Scottish answer to a wooden spoon: a slim, rounded shaft that stirs sauces, oatmeal, and soups without scraping or scratching your cookware. This one comes from Totally Bamboo's Baltique line, shaped from solid birch wood and finished with a multicolored pattern that adds some personality to an otherwise everyday tool. At 13 inches long, it's sized for stovetop reach on most pots and pans, and like other wood utensils, it should be hand washed to keep it in good shape.
