About Product Overview

This 5-gallon pail of Zinsser water-based primer and sealer is built for painters covering large jobs where stain blocking and fast turnaround matter. It goes on with a brush, roller, or airless sprayer, and because it's a low-VOC latex formula, cleanup is just soap and water instead of solvents.

The stain-blocking properties make it a solid choice for water stains, smoke damage, or patched drywall before a finish coat, and it works on multiple surfaces both indoors and out. With recoat time at just one hour, crews can move through prep and topcoat in the same day, though the label calls for a full 7 days to reach complete cure. It's tintable, so it can be adjusted toward the final color to help the topcoat cover in fewer passes.
